Design problem
Coast Construction had outgrown itself. Equipment scattered across facilities, divisions working in isolation from one another, and a physical presence that no longer reflected the company's ambitions — the signs of a business that had steadily become a sought-after national force. Coast deserved a home built to that scale — one with room not just for today's team, but for the people and possibilities not yet imagined.
Design approach
The design process began with a feasibility and facade study conducted while Coast was still weighing site options. Varietions were explored — one story and two, leasable wings, varying massing — each tested against both practical need and architectural character. What emerged was something deliberate: a timeless yet distinctly Pacific Northwest modern sensibility, one that lifts the standard of the typical concrete tilt-up and brings a refined sophistication to the growing Cascade Industrial Center.

A campus as considered as the company itself, the corporate offices anchor the street edge, presenting a polished and unified image to the world, while a substantial shop facility sits behind. A second building offers flexibility for Coast's Civil Division or the option of leasable space as the future unfolds. Between the two structures, a generous yard holds the company's equipment and reserves its own potential — space enough to grow again, when the time comes.
